Somewhere today a child will be lost,
Will it be yours or could it be mine?
Somewhere today a river will flow,
From tears that a parent is crying.
Somewhere today a child's name is called,
But no answer will ever be heard,
Only the memory of a final goodbye
"I love you Mommy", the last words.
Somewhere today a child waits on a bus,
But when schools in, they won't be there.
Somewhere today the law will allow,
A pedophile to add stench to our air.
Somewhere today a funeral is held,
Amidst wailing and unending pain,
Mothers and Fathers who've suffered great loss,
Their lives have been forever changed.
Somewhere today a judge will grant bail,
Allowing a man a second chance to kill,
Somewhere today a menace will walk free,
Endangering kids with his treacherous will.
And somewhere today a search party seeks,
The remains of a long lost soul,
Someone whose body was tortured and raped,
Could this be a person you know?
Somewhere today in your city or mine,
A wife will not return home from work,
Abducted instead by the hands of a man,
Whom near her car did silently lurk.
Somewhere tonight a parent waits up,
Praying for a phone call to come,
With the news that her son or daughter is safe,
And has not been shot dead from a gun.
And somewhere today only two blocks from home,
A child will be snatched off the street,
Murdered and sodomized falling hard to the ground,
When only a friend she was suppose to meet.
Somewhere today there remain killers not caught,
For the lives they have brought to an end,
Hiding and sneering in Satan's dark cloak,
Determined to strike once again!
