On A Cold Virginia Morning
When they woke up on that morning
a defining chill was in the air
They bundled up to face the cold
not knowing what waited there
With a heart much colder then the wind
was a man who would change their lives
Many of the innocent were wounded
and other beautiful lives had died
A troubled man who could no longer cope
decided to end life as he knew
Then gathering up his killing machines
off to shock the world is what ensued
He stormed in cowardly on his victims
young men and women who were gathered there
Never given a chance to defend themselves
he shattered their dreams and cares
As the April snow fell onto the ground
shots rang out in the cold morning air
People began running here and there
fearing for their lives and very scared
When the horror and killing was over
many were wounded and lives were lost
Thirty three families are forever changed
their loved ones now gone, was the cost
Please bow you heads in a silent prayer
for the thousands affected on that day
Their lives will forever be changed
such a tragedy what more can we say
The innocents have now become Angels
who are watching down from Heaven above
And we pray that the Good Lord forgives him,
this madman who had a heart without love
