Do you believe all Gods Angels are shiny and white,
And all others not equal in His glorious sight?
Even for a moment if you think this is true,
Then fold your hands brother because you are a fool.
Do you believe God provides a separate set of stairs,
One black, one white, and maybe yellow over there?
Think long and hard on where your faith lies,
Does God really see one color in His eyes?
Do you believe God segregates those He calls home,
Sorting all different races and religions by zones,
Can you actually visualize Him saying to me,
"You are white son, your soul I'll set free".
Do you believe God blesses while you sit in your Church,
When He knows in your heart a racist does lurk,
One who's been taught that his race is supreme,
And sees only himself as a superior being.
Do you believe God will ask when you stand at His gate,
"Which color section would you prefer to belong"?
Or does it make perfect sense for you to accept,
You have interpreted God's message all wrong.
Are you truly convinced that the white man was right,
When hell bent to murder all blacks within sight,
Or maybe the Native Americans once killed,
While trying to enforce upon them the white will.
Do you feel somewhat angered by the words that I write,
Perhaps a little uncomfortable and believe it's just tripe,
History don't lie and neither do my eyes,
None should be shocked or in total surprise.
The overall picture has been painted quite clear,
And the author of this history I'm not,
I have only written what I know to be truths,
Is that not after all, what you've sought?
I prefer to worship a God who loves all,
No matter the color of my skin,
Anyone who believes that this is not so,
I truly feel sorry for him.
