1. Walk tall! Predators watch for people who look weak and vulnerable. Keep your back straight
and your head high and walk like you are going somewhere important. If you shuffle and hang your head, it could give someone the idea that you think no one cares where you are or what you are doing. Put a confident look on your face and walk at a steady pace. Studies show that it makes a difference!
2. Dress neatly and make sure your face is washed and your hair is combed. Again, the kind of
people who are a danger are looking for someone who doesn't seem to care about himself [or
herself].
3, Walk in well-lighted areas, and avoid places where streets and sidewalks are often empty.
4. Be a good friend to yourself. That way, you won't be tempted to go off with some stranger because he or she promises to give you things or take you places to make you "feel good." You
a r e good. Presents may sound nice, but we are talking about your l i f e. The
kind of people who are the biggest danger have lots of tricks up their sleeves. Walk away! Run
if you have to!!
5. Sadly, there may be people you know who mean you harm. If one of them says or does something
that sounds strange or tries to get you to go somewhere that doesn't feel right, be brave
and tell someone you k n o w you can trust. Stand up for yourself!

On my cell phone by my daughter & son's name & phone number it says how related to me
like -daughter
-son
mother
sister
etc....
If something did happen to me, my cell phone is my life ......
Also never walk ALONE, if you want to go for a walk take a neighbor or friend. Being alone causes trouble.
Also on my phone message just state you are either busy or away from the phone now, you should never say we are not home at this time.....dangerous!!!!!!!
Never get into a car with someone drinking. Not even your best friend or family member.
You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car, and get inside. Then you start the engine and shift into REVERSE, and you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window.
So, you shift into PARK, unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off! Your engine was running and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car. And guess what ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car...
BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.
Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later, and be thankful that you read this email.
I hope you will forward this to friends and family... Especially to women! A purse contains all of your identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys!
AND FORWARD THIS TO ALL THE MEN YOU KNOW WHO CAN TELL THEIR WIVES & GIRLFRIENDS!!!!!!!!

In Case of Emergency. ICE for cell phones
Following the disaster in London, the Ambulance Service have launched a national "In case of Emergency (ICE)" worldwide campaign.
The idea is that you store the word " I C E " in your mobile phone address book, and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency".
In an emergency situation ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them. It's so simple that everyone can do it. Please do.
Please will you also email this to all the people you know, it won't take too many 'forwards' before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest.
For more than one contact name ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc.
It’s a great idea, store it in your phone then pass on the message to your family and friends....
Now a simple initiative, conceived by a paramedic in Britain, has gained momentum on both sides of the Atlantic to try to solve this problem. Cell users are being urged to put the acronym ICE -- "in caseof emergency" -- before the names of the people they want to designate as next of kin in their cell address book, creating entries such as "ICE -- Dad" or "ICE -- Alison."
Good Advice
What a great idea...especially for women alone! Share this with all your friends! Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies. This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. This is a really cool idea. Next time you come home for the night and you to put your keys away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation.
Start keeping your car keys next to your bed on the night stand when you go to bed at night. If you think someone is trying to get into your house, or if you hear a noise outside your house, just press the panic alarm on your car key chain.
Test it' It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage.
If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break in your house, odds are the burglar or rapist won't stick around.... .after a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that.
Try yours to make sure it works before you rely on it. Just know that you must press the alarm button again to turn it off.
And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there.....
This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.
A good tip from a neighborhood watch coordinator:
Keep your car keys next to your bed on the nightstand.
"When someone is trying to get into your house, or if you hear a noise outside your house," just press the panic alarm on your key to set off the car alarm.
It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and keep honking until
your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key
chain."
A lot of burglars will cut your telephone line before breaking in so this is
a real good idea.
