Tears fell softly upon her young face
As a teenage girl continued to weep
How could she have been so foolish
To think his love she could keep
Words of love he had tenderly whispered
And she believed it all to be true
But now as she lay sick and frightened
She realized she didnt know what to do
Her parents warning haunted her memory
To be careful and not go off alone
But she allowed him to whisper he loved her
Now the thought chilled her clean to the bone
Dark brown eyes and wavy locks of curls
He had stolen her young heart away
Promising he would be hers forever
But now she knew she had to pay
Nights once filled with love and lust
Suddenly came to a heartbreaking end
The test confirmed she was pregnant
A baby would have to pay for her sin
How could she now approach her loving parents
And tell them the daughter that they cherish
Was now expecting a child of her own
Would it be easier for her just to perish
She should have listened to their words
And not the whispers of a teenage boy
For he had stolen not only her love
But a heart now left with no joy
A long painful night was coming to a close
And no more could she hide her lies
Slowly she descended the winding stairs
Facing her parents and their knowing eyes
They knew she had not heeded their warnings
For they too had been foolish in the past
But their love had been one of full commitment
Dedicated to a marriage that would last
Their hearts broke as she now told the story
Of how a young boy had taken her love
Destroying her life and leaving her to cope
With a baby sent from heaven above
I write this poem to the teenagers of today
Please stop and think before you act
The tender whispers of love and affection
Can lead to this stories truthful facts
